SXU's Martinez, ONU's Dorsey, VU's Jahr Pick Up Week 9 Women's Volleyball Honors

CHICAGO --- Saint Xavier University's Avanna Martinez (Coamo, Puerto Rico) collected her second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's volleyball weekly honor for 2025, while Viterbo University's Izzy Jahr (Holmen, Wis.) and Olivet Nazarene University's Skylar Dorsey (Ottawa, Ill.) each gained their first when the league office made the announcement on Tuesday.

Martinez garnered the defensive accolades after averaging 7.25 digs per set and completing all 13 of her passing attempts in her only match of the week.  The senior libero's 29 digs came in a four-set win over Governors State University last Tuesday.

Saint Xavier is now 11-6 overall and 9-3 in the CCAC.

Dorsey also guided her team to victory with her strong play en route to CCAC Setter of the Week honors.  The freshman totaled 47 assists (9.4 avg.), 13 digs (2.6), six kills and four aces in a five-set win opposite St. Ambrose University last Tuesday.  She also produced a .231 attacking clip in the team's only contest of the week.

Olivet Nazarene evened out its record in the league at 6-6, while improving to 8-18 overall.   

Jahr did all she could in Viterbo's upset bid against NAIA No. 3 Northwestern College (Iowa) to garner CCAC Attacker of the Week honors.  The sophomore outside hitter registered a career-high 28 kills (5.6 avg.) and a .327 hitting percentage in the five-set loss last Thursday.  She also produced 19 receptions and six digs.

The No. 15-ranked V-Hawks remain atop the league standings at a perfect 11-0.  Overall, they are 17-6.

Other Setter Nominees: Maddie Connor (Viterbo), Samantha Hovey (Saint Xavier), Brynn Lake (Indiana South Bend), Cristal Lopez (Calumet St. Joseph), Raniyah Preston (Indiana Northwest), Alina Romero (Judson), Alyssa Teske (St. Francis).
