Olivet Nazarene Makes It Two Titles In A Row In Women's Cross Country
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. --- NAIA No. 12-ranked Olivet Nazarene University rang up its second straight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country championship on Saturday morning with its 28-point effort on the trails of Aspen Ridge Golf Course.
The ONU program used a total of four runners among the Top 10 finishers to win the meet title in a comfortable fashion. Governors State University edging out St. Ambrose University for the No. 2 position, 57-58.
A total of 96 runners representing nine schools made up the field with Olivet Nazarene's Heidi Heldt gaining the headlines. The senior finished better than 22 seconds faster than her next closest challenger with a time of 21:51.89 on the 6K course.
Governors State's Sophia Flowers not only gained runner-up honors, but was also recognized as the CCAC Freshman of the Year courtesy of her 22:14.22 time.
ONU's Kyle Rago captured his second straight CCAC Coach of the Year honor by leading his team to the title.

Governors State (3): Sophia Flowers, Krysta Stanko, Avery Kittl.
St. Ambrose (3): Kaitlyn Knoche, Allison Hein, Lexi Minard.
St. Francis (1): Nicole Vollrath.
