Record-Setting Performances By SXU's Clarke, VU's Poppe Net Women's Indoor T&F Weekly Honors

CHICAGO --- School-record performances during the seven-day period between Jan. 19-25 have earned Saint Xavier University's Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill.) and Viterbo University's Avery Poppe (Hayward, Wis.) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week accolades, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.

Clarke collected the track honors after hitting the "A' standard in the 400-meter run at the Aurora University Grand Prix on Saturday.  The senior finished second among 43 qualifiers with her school-record time of 56.23 seconds.

Poppe, meanwhile, broke the Viterbo long jump record to garner CCAC Field Athlete of the Week accord.  She hit the 'B' standard with her distance of 5.65 meters to place third out of 26 competitors at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse Pat Healy Classic on Saturday.
