St. Ambrose Leads List of Women's Tennis All-Academic Selections
CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University came away carrying the most honors when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2024 Women's Tennis All-Academic Team on Monday afternoon. The Fighting Bees program collected six of the 16 spots on the team.
Holy Cross College and University of St. Francis tied for the No. 2 position with four honorees each. Olivet Nazarene and Roosevelt University each had one representative on the squad.
The majority of the team was a repeat from one year ago. Ten players on this year's squad were also a part of the 2023 list. Six individuals were repeat selections, three were recognized for the third year in a row and one recipient was named for the fourth consecutive year.
There was also one perfect 4.00 among the group in St. Francis' Heather Heintz.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
