Lapaix Becomes Second Straight Cardinal Stritch Player To Earn Women's Tennis Weekly Recognition
CHICAGO --- A pair of wins from Cardinal Stritch University's Kissmel Cedano Lapaix (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) has earned her Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week accord, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The sophomore won her No. 3 singles match against University of St. Francis by a 7-5, 6-4 count. In doubles play, she was victorious 6-3 at No. 1. That helped CSU win the match 4-2 last Wednesday.
Lapaix is the second straight CSU player to claim the award and the third overall this season.
The No. 25-ranked Wolves are currently 8-6 overall and 4-0 in league play.
