Women's Soccer Quarterfinal Round Matchups All Decided By One Goal
CHICAGO ---As expected, a tight regular season led to four close contests in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament with all four matchups being decided by one goal. Each of the top three seeds prevailed, while No. 5 seed University of St. Francis pulled off the lone upset.
The Fighting Saints (12-3-3) handed No. 4 Olivet Nazarene its only defeat of the season 1-0, while No. 2 Saint Xavier University (10-4-4) won by that same count over Trinity Christian. Top-seeded Holy Cross College avoided being upset with a late goal to claim a 3-2 victory in the highest-scoring match of the night. No. 3 St. Ambrose (11-5-3) rounded out the group of winners with its 2-1 defeat of Viterbo University.
That sets up Friday's semifinal round with Holy Cross hosting St. Francis and Saint Xavier doing the same with St. Ambrose. The two winners advance to next Tuesday's championship at the site of the highest remaining seed.
