Manzke, Dybas Earn Sweep of Women's Soccer Weekly Honors For SXU

CHICAGO --- Propelling Saint Xavier University to the top of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings courtesy of two wins during the seven-day period from Oct. 13-19, teammates Maddie Manzke (Orland Park, Ill.) and Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill.) have been selected as the league's Women's Soccer Players of the Week.  The conference office made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

Manzke authored a game-winning goal and a hat trick during the week to land the offensive recognition.  The game-winning goal came in a 1-0 triumph over previous league leader University of St. Francis last Wednesday.

The graduate student forward followed that up with three goals on Saturday in a 5-0 decision over Mount Mary University.

Dybas went unscored upon over the seven-day stretch to capture her second CCAC Defensive Player of the Week award this season.  The junior registered her fifth shutout of the campaign by stopping four shots in the big win over St. Francis.  She did not have any attempts come her way in 17 minutes of action in the Mount Mary match.

Saint Xavier is now tied with St. Ambrose University for the top spot in the CCAC with identical 6-1-3 league records.  Overall, the Cougars are 7-4-4.
