2024 Softball All-Academic Team Announced

CHICAGO --- A total of 79 student-athletes from each of the nine member schools that sponsor softball were represented on the 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball All-Academic Team, which was announced on Wednesday morning.

Topping the list was Roosevelt University with a total of 13 honorees.  Regular-season and tournament champion Saint Xavier University gained the No. 2 spot with its 12 recipients, followed by Trinity Christian College with 11 and St. Ambrose University with ten.

Indiana University South Bend and Olivet Nazarene University each secured eight places, with Calumet College of St. Joseph and University of St. Francis represented by seven student-athletes each.  Judson University claimed three spots.

Of those recognized, 43 were on the team last spring, including 31 repeat choices.  Ten individuals made the squad for the third time in a row, while two were named for the fourth consecutive year.

A total of seven recipients also had perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages.  That list was made up of Taylor Becker, Adriana Killas, Brooke Koran, Haley Matlock and Kaitlyn Wright, all of whom hailed from Saint Xavier.  Also in that grouping were Eryn Cornwell from St. Ambrose and Kaylie Sippel of St. Francis.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
