Saint Xavier Poised To Claim Sixth Straight Men's Volleyball Tournament Title

CHICAGO --- Seeking its sixth straight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Tournament title, NAIA No. 2-ranked Saint Xavier University is poised to do just that after going undefeated both overall (26-0) and in league play (12-0) during the 2025 regular season.

The Cougars won 21 of their 26 matches in the minimum three sets with only one other match going to five sets.  In conference play, SXU won 36 of its 37 sets played to capture its fifth regular-season title in a row.

As the No. 1 seed in the six-team tournament, Saint Xavier gained a first-round bye along with Olivet Nazarene University, the No. 2 seed.  The Tigers went 14-12 during the regular season. 

Both teams will host semifinal-round matchups on Thursday at 7 pm.

Who they play could be any of four teams, who start off on Tuesday in quarterfinal-round action.  No. 3 seed St. Ambrose University (14-15) will host No. 6 Viterbo University (5-29), while No. 5 Calumet College of St. Joseph (8-13) heads to No. 4 Judson University (13-13).  Both matches begin at 7 pm.

Saint Xavier takes on the winner of the Judson-Calumet St. Joseph contest, while Olivet Nazarene will host the winner of the St. Ambrose-Viterbo contest.

The championship match will take place on Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed.  The winner of that contest earns the league's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament April 29-May 3 at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Saturday, April 19 – Championship (at site of highest remaining seed)
