Saint Xavier Sweeps Men's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors
CHICAGO --- Hitting the NAIA 'B' standard during the week ending April 5 has earned a sweep of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's outdoor track & field weekly honors for Saint Xavier University teammates Sean Harris (Blue Island, Ill.) and Connor Whalen (Burbank, Ill.), the league office announced on Thursday.
Harris was named the CCAC Track Athlete of the Week after winning both the 200-meter and 110-meter hurdle events at last weekend's Chicagoland Championships. The senior needed just 21.11 seconds to claim the 200-meter event among 93 participants. He followed that with a 14.5-second time in the hurdles among 30 competitors.
Whalen also won his event, the hammer throw, at the Chicagoland Championships to claim CCAC field recognition for the second time this year. He bested a group of 49 throwers with his distance of 56.69 meters.
