Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team Named
CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University secured a league-best 20 of the 67 spots on the 2023-24 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team when the list was released on Tuesday morning by the CCAC office.
Three other teams joined St. Ambrose in gaining double-figure representation on the squad with Olivet Nazarene University just two in back of the Fighting Bees program with 20 selections. Those programs were followed by Saint Xavier University with 11 and Trinity Christian College ten.
University of St. Francis was represented by five Saints, while Judson University rounded out the list with three individuals from its program.
Better than half of those earning the distinction (35 of 68) received it one year ago, as well. Twenty-three on the list were two-time recipients, eight were three-peats and a quartet were named for the fourth consecutive year.
Boasting perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages were Rohindeep Bhattal of Saint Xavier and Pedro Ocampo of St. Francis.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
