School Records Result In Men's Indoor T&F Weekly Honors For SAU's Grandon, ONU's Robinson
CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Dylan Grandon (Urbandale, Iowa) and Olivet Nazarene University's Marcus Robinson (Mableton, Ga.) each established new school marks during the seven-day period ending Feb. 1 on their way to claiming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week accolades, which were announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Robinson gained the field recognition for the second time this winter, setting a new school freshman record in the weight throw. He hit the 'B' standard with his toss of 17.55 meters. That won him the 24-person event at ONU's Invitational on Friday and placed the performance 24th in the NAIA.
Robinson also finished third in the shot put out of 30 competitors with his distance of 15.6 meters.
Grandon set the SAU record in the 800-meter run to land CCAC Track Athlete of the Week honors. He hit the 'A' mark with his time of 1:51.52, placing third among 55 individuals at the Washburn University (Kan.) Open on Saturday.
The junior also competed in the 600-meter dash (1:12.99) as well as being part of the 4x400-meter relay team (3:20.79).
