JU's Peterson, SXU's Foster Bring Home First Weekly Men's Indoor T&F Honors For 2024-25 Season
CHICAGO --- Judson University's David Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) and Saint Xavier University's Ronnie Foster (Peoria Heights, Ill.) have secured the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for the 2025 season, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
Peterson was named the Track Athlete of the Week for the seven-day period ending Jan. 19 after winning the 800-meter event at the North Central College Heenan Invitational on Saturday. The sophomore ran a 2:00.42 to beat out 18 other challengers and hit the NAIA "A" standard. That time also fell just 0.24 seconds shy of the all-time school record.
Foster collected Field Athlete of the Week accord after placing among the top four performers in a pair of events at the St. Ambrose University Bumble Rumble on Saturday. The senior won the triple jump among nine competitors with his leap of 44 feet, 11.5 inches (13.7 meters). He also placed fourth out of 29 individuals in the long jump with his distance of 21 feet, 10.75 inches (6.67 meters).
