HCC's Perry Completes Player of the Year Sweep In Men's Tennis

CHICAGO --- Holy Cross College's Perry Gregg (Chicago, Ill.) has completed the sweep.

For the fourth year in a row, Gregg has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year, it was announced on Tuesday morning as part of the league's 2025 men's tennis honor roll.

As a team, Holy Cross again dominated the list of award winners.  After claiming 13 of 16 awards one year ago, the Saints' program secured 11 honors this time around.  Olivet Nazarene University was a distant second with three awards, while Judson University and St. Ambrose University each collected one.

Having gone undefeated, thus far, this season, Gregg currently boasts a No. 20 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles ranking and a No. 2 billing paired with Luca McManus (Delray Beach, Fla.).  As a No. 1 doubles team, they have gone 6-0.  Gregg is also 7-0 between No. 1 (6-0) and No. 4 singles (1-0).

Gregg and McManus were both singles all-conference selections, Gregg for the fourth consecutive spring and McManus for the third time.  They were joined by teammates Oscar Wai (Hong Kong, China) (two-time choice), Naithaolin Golmei (Tyler, Tex.), and Matt Jezky (Oak Brook, Ill.).

The only non-Saint to make the six-member team was Olivet Nazarene's Chatton Haws (Cedarburg, Wis.).

Gregg, McManus and Wai were also part of the six-man all-conference doubles team, earning the recognition for the fourth, third and second time, respectively.  Wai paired up with Golmei.

Olivet Nazarene rounded out the doubles team with its pair of Sanskar Choubey (Vadodra, Gujrat, India) and Paul Saleh (Tiburon, Calif.).

Recognized as the CCAC Freshman of the Year was Judson's Javier Sanchez (Linares, Spain).  He went 9-3-2 primarily in the No. 4 slot on the singles side and was 5-0-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Named the CCAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season was Holy Cross' Eric Mahone, whole led the Saints to their second straight regular-season league title and third tournament championship in a row.  Heading into Tuesday's NAIA National Championship first-round matchup, HCC is 12-2 on the campaign with eight straight victories and a No. 10 national ranking.

St. Ambrose rounded out the list of award winners by being honored as the CCAC Champions of Character team.
