Judson Headlines Men's Soccer All-Academic Honor Roll
CHICAGO --- The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference nearly hit the century mark on Tuesday when 99 individuals were named as men's soccer all-academic selections.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
Topping the chart was Judson University, which claimed better than 20 percent of the recipients with its 21 selections. Three other schools also hit double figures with Trinity Christian College's 17 honorees, 12 from St. Ambrose University and 11 from league regular-season and tournament champion Olivet Nazarene University.
Indiana University Northwest followed up with seven recipients, while Governors State University, Saint Xavier University and University of St. Francis each claimed six spots. Rounding out the class was Viterbo University with five representatives and both Calumet College of St. Joseph and Holy Cross College with four each.
Better than half of those earning the distinction were also on the squad last fall, broken down into 41 repeat choices and 11 three-time selections. Five of those named boasted perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages.
