VU's Jancauskas, IUNW's Collins Gather In Men's Soccer Weekly Accolades

CHICAGO --- A big offensive output from Viterbo University's Jokubas Jancauskas (Klaipeda, Lithuania) and a strong defensive effort by Indiana University Northwest's Devun Collins (Stansbury Park, Utah) to start league play have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending Sept. 28.  The league office made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

Jancauskas totaled eight points with his three goals and two assists over two matches to gain CCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition.  He contributed to both goals in a 2-1 win over Saint Xavier University last Wednesday, scoring the first goal before providing the assist on the game-winner.

The freshman forward followed that up with a pair of goals and one assist in Saturday's 6-1 triumph over St. Ambrose University.

Viterbo's 2-0 start to the conference season put the V-Hawks at 5-1-2 overall.

Capturing CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accord was Collins, who allowed just one goal against nine saves in two contests.  His biggest save came on Saturday when he stopped a penalty kick to keep IUNW's match with Judson University scoreless.  The end result was a 0-0 deadlock with Collins authoring four saves in registering his second shutout of the season.

Earlier in the week, the senior posted five saves in a 1-0 setback to Holy Cross College on Wednesday.

Indiana Northwest went 0-1-1 on the week and is now 1-8-1 for the campaign.
