JU's Wainstein, HCC's Fuentealba Pick Up Men's Soccer Weekly Awards
CHICAGO --- Week 10 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week winners have been announced and the recipients for this round of honors are Judson University's Martin Wainstein (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Holy Cross College's Claudio Fuentealba (Rancagua, Chile). They were recognized for their play during the seven-day period from Oct. 24-30.
Wainstein claimed the top offensive accolades after scoring in each of Judson's two victories last week. The senior midfielder authored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 road decision over University of St. Francis on Tuesday before celebrating Senior Day with two goals and an assist in a 3-0 victory over Saint Xavier University on Saturday.
Judson's 2-0 week enabled the Eagles to finish 7-2-3 in conference play (fifth place). They are 8-5-4 overall heading into the CCAC Tournament.
Fuentealba garnered CCAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition for his play in goal last Tuesday in Holy Cross' regular-season finale. The sophomore stopped eight shots in the Saints' 2-2 tie with first-place Olivet Nazarene University.
Fuentealba currently ranks third in the league in goals-against average with his 1.00 mark.
The lone contest on the week for Holy Cross completed its conference season at 7-1-4 (fourth place) and left the Saints at 9-4-4 overall heading into the upcoming CCAC Tournament.

Other Defensive Nominees: Mateo Ojesto (Judson), Matthew Stuursma (Trinity Christian), Alexandre Baranes (Cardinal Stritch), Eric Carvajal (Roosevelt), Maarten Gravekamp (Olivet Nazarene), Emigdio Tormo Lopez (Governors State).
