USF's Frantz Claims First Men's Golf Weekly Award
CHICAGO --- University of St. Francis' Daniel Frantz (Red Bluff, Calif.) has claimed his first-ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week honor, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Frantz, a freshman, carded an average round of 74.3 over 54 holes during the week of April 7-13 to garner the distinction.
Frantz opened the week by sharing medalist honors at the Saints' own Spring Invitational as he fired a two-under-par 69 to lead USF to the tournament title on Tuesday. He then placed 22nd among 71 golfers at Millikin University's Weist Foundation Classic, where he shot 74 and 80 over the weekend.
The Saints placed sixth out of 12 teams at the Millikin meet.
Other Nominees: Michael Bork (Olivet Nazarene), James Kerr (Saint Xavier).
