IUN's Barnes, TCC's Greene Close Out Regular Season With Weekly Men's Basketball Honors

CHICAGO --- Indiana University Northwest's Ladaion Barnes (Hammond, Ind.) and Trinity Christian College's Garrett Greene (Oak Lawn, Ill.) have garnered the final men's basketball weekly honors of the 2025-26 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season, it was announced on Tuesday morning.

Barnes earned his second CCAC Defensive Player of the Week award and the third weekly honor overall highlighted by his eight blocks, including five against Olivet Nazarene University in a 65-59 loss on Saturday.  He finished a three-game stretch of games averaging 2.7 blocks, 2.0 steals, 4.0 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 18.0 points per contest.

In the ONU game, seven of Barnes' eight rebounds came on the defensive end.  He also had two steals, three assists and 15 points.

The senior guard had a strong game on Monday, as well, in a 79-60 crucial victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph.  In that contest, he had three steals, two blocks, eight defensive rebounds (nine total), five assists and 20 points. 

Indiana Northwest claimed victory in two of its three games last week to secure a postseason berth.  The RedHawks finished the regular season 11-17 overall and 9-11 in the conference.

Greene, meanwhile, helped secure a home postseason game for his team by leading the Trolls to two victories last week.  He averaged 27.0 points on 67.7 percent shooting (21-of-31) to gain CCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition.  He also hit on seven of his 12 three-pointers and 5-of-6 free throws to go along with his nine assists, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks over the two games.

The senior forward's biggest game came on Saturday when he answered the call with 36 points on 15-of-20 shooting, including four three-pointers, in a 91-68 victory over Saint Xavier University.  He also provided five assists in the outing.

Greene added another 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in an 87-73 win versus Holy Cross College on Wednesday.

Trinity Christian earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CCAC Tournament with its two wins last week.  The Trolls finished the regular season at 16-12 overall and 13-7 against league competition.
