Men's Basketball All-Academic Team Announced
CHICAGO --- Olivet Nazarene University came away boasting the most recipients when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2023-24 men's basketball all-academic honorees on Tuesday morning. The Tiger program collected a total of 13 awards, followed by University of St. Francis with nine and St. Ambrose University with eight.
A total of ten schools were represented on the list of 52 award winners. The rest of the grouping had Governors State University gaining six spots, Holy Cross College earning five, Roosevelt University and Trinity Christian College with three each, Judson University and Saint Xavier University with two each and Indiana University South Bend one.
Of those named, two individuals registered perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Seventeen of those rewarded were on the squad one year ago with six of those being three-time selections and one claiming the distinction for the fourth consecutive year.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
