St. Francis Tops CCAC Preseason Baseball Poll

CHICAGO --- With the unseasonably mild temperatures in the Chicagoland region this week making it feel like spring, one thinks baseball and with that comes the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Preseason Poll. The poll, which was released on Friday morning, finds the University of St. Francis as the preseason favorite with Trinity Christian College, Saint Xavier University and Indiana University South Bend manning the other top four rankings.

In the middle of the 11-team pack are St. Ambrose University, Olivet Nazarene University, Judson University are Trinity International University.

Rounding out the poll are Roosevelt University, Calumet College of St. Joseph and newest league member Lincoln College.

The poll was conducted by the CCAC coaches.

A mere four teams were able to get any conference games in one year ago before the pandemic wiped out the rest of the season. St. Francis played the most contests going 3-0.

The 2021 season kicks off on St. Patrick's Day, March 17.
