CCAC Champion St. Ambrose Tops Women's Golf Academic Honor Roll
CHICAGO --- First-time Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's golf champion St. Ambrose University claimed the most spots on the CCAC Women's Golf All-Academic Team when it was announced on Monday afternoon. The Fighting Bees' program garnered eight mentions among the 21 individuals named to the squad.
Capturing runner-up distinction were both Judson University and Olivet Nazarene University with four selections each. Trinity Christian College followed right behind with three representatives, while Holy Cross College had two players earn the commendations.
Thirteen of the 21 names on the list were also on it one year ago with eight of the 13 being repeat selections and the other five named to the squad for the third year in a row.
Four of the student-athletes recognized boasted perfect 4.0 grade point averages. That list was made up of Judson's Lauren Semerau and Emma Walberg, Olivet Nazarene's Alexandria Jones and St. Ambrose's Julia Fogleman.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
