GSU's Rocio Claims First Men's CC Runner of the Week Award For 2025

CHICAGO --- Governors State University's Samuel Rocio (Aurora, Ill.) has claimed the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for the 2025 season, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.

Rocio placed second among 103 total runners at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints Twilight Invite on Friday night.  The sophomore completed the 5K course in 15:42.73.

As a team, Governors State finished second out of the nine teams competing.
