HEAD WRESTLING COACH

Calumet College of St. Joseph is seeking a head coach to lead the University's wrestling program.

Specifics: Possess the ability to consistently demonstrate strong, positive and productive leadership skills. Oversee and coordinate all recruitment and retention activities to build a competitive wrestling program.  Work in cooperation with the Athletic Director on a strategic five year plan for program growth and competitiveness.  Effectively communicate with all College faculty, staff and administration on the academic progress of the sport's student-athletes.  Arrange all scheduling commitments throughout the wrestling seasons.  Demonstrate and implement successful year round training plans for all student-athletes committed to the sport (pre-season, in-season and off-season).  Provide creative and hands-on opportunities within fundraising for the Athletic Department and program.  Manage support coaching staff associated the program while encouraging cooperation and teamwork. Develop and implement various wrestling camps/clinics during the year to help promote the program and College.  Provide all student-athletes with a quality collegiate four-year academic and athletic experience.   

Other responsibilities: Maintains a positive attitude towards performing the duties of the job; cooperates with all coaches and the Director of Athletics to provide the optimum intercollegiate athletics program possible under existing conditions; has a clear understanding of the NAIA philosophy and the role of athletics within a private, Catholic liberal-arts setting; performs other related duties within the Enrollment Management Department as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Certifications:   Required:  Bachelor's Degree in appropriate area of specialization with 1-3 years of college coaching & recruiting experience.

CPR/First Aid/AED certified

Preferred:               Master's Degree in appropriate area of specialization
