Cardinal Stritch
University sophomore guard
Liz Neitzel (Lomira, WI) had
a great week for the No. 19 ranked Wolves. She led them to two victories while
averaging 24.5 points per game. She has been named the CCAC Women's Basketball
Division II Player of the Week for the week ending January 31.
Stritch opened the week against CCAC Division I opponent Olivet Nazarene
University. The Wolves
won the high-scoring affair 94-88.
Neitzel
put together an outstanding line with 26 points, seven rebounds, four
assists, three steals and one block. She made 8-of-14 field goals and 9-of-11
free throws.
In a 74-41 conference win over Trinity
Christian College,
Neitzel scored 23 points to go along
with five assists, three steals and two rebounds. She connected on 7-of-14
shots, including three three-point field goals. She made 6-of-7 free throws.
In addition to her 24.5 points per game average,
Neitzel averaged 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in the
two games combined. She shot 53.6 from the floor (15-28) and 83.3 percent from
the charity stripe (15-18).
Neitzel averages 14.4 points per
game which ranks third in the CCAC. Her 2.7 assists per game average ranks
fourth.
Cardinal Stritch is 21-2 overall and is atop the CCAC standings with a
perfect 6-0 record.
