Trey Triplett passes 2,000 career points on Monday night
Milwaukee, Wis. - Trey Triplett surpassed the 2,000 point mark on Tuesday night as the No. 13 ranked Cardinal Stritch University Wolves men's basketball team ran away with a 95-68 victory over Silver Lake College.

Stritch never struggled in the game against Silver Lake as the Wolves carried a 47-29 advantage at halftime. The lead would never be threatened by the Lakers as Stritch would outscore them 48-39 in the second half to lead the way to the win.

While the 13th-ranked Wolves raced out to their ninth straight win, the night was special for two Wolves' players in particular. Both Trey Triplett (Lisle, Ill.) and Kody Braddix (Glendale, Ariz.) reached milestones during the game.

Triplett, already the team's career point leader, added his name to another record as he notched his 2,000th career point early in the second half of the game. With the career mark, Triplett added his name to an elite group of scorers to have played collegiate basketball in the state of Wisconsin. Some of the members of that group include former University of Wisconsin greats Michael Finley and Alando Tucker, Abdul Jeenlani from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Dave Shaw from Carroll University, Rich Melzer from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Tony Carr from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and Andre McKoy from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The Stritch senior would finish with 15 points in the game.

While Triplett was busy setting a new career mark, Braddix was off having a career night as well. The senior guard went 12 of 13 from the field to tally a game-high 28 points, which is a new high for Braddix.

Overall, the Wolves would have an extremely successful night as they would shoot 55 percent from the floor. Other high scorers for Stritch were Navjot Singh (Mundelein, Ill.), who had 18 points, and Brandon D'Amico (Geneva, Ill.) who had 12 points and five rebounds.

The Lakers were led in scoring by Brian Diorio (Three Lakes, Wis.) as he scored nine points to lead Silver Lake. Josiah Elkins (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Toushane Evans (Milwaukee, Wis.) each added eight points apiece.

The win helps push the Wolves to 17-4 overall while the Lakers fall to 0-17 on the season. Stritch will take to the court again on Wednesday, Jan. 27 as they'll head to Westville, Ind. to take on Purdue University - North Central. The Wolves and Panthers will tip-off at 7 p.m. in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
