Edwards made 9 three-point field goals in two games last week for Judson

Judson University sophomore guard Josh Edwards (Maplton, IL) was extremely influential in two conference wins for the Eagles last week. He had two 20-point games with crucial baskets in key runs for Judson in both games. For his performances, Edwards has been named CCAC Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week for the week ending January 17.

In Judson's 83-74 win over Purdue-Calumet, Edwards had 27 points, including five three-pointers. He made 10-of-19 shots from the field and also had three steals. Edwards had 11 points in a 21-8 run to start the second half when Judson was down seven as the Eagles took the lead for good. The Peregrines cut the lead to four with 10 minutes left when Edwards hit a layup to keep Judson ahead and start an 11-3 run.

In the 98-82 road win against Calumet, Edwards had 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Judson was down 18-8 to start the game and Edwards converted on a four-point play to start a 21-10 run. He scored 11 of the points in the run.

In the two games combined, Edwards averaged 25.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals. He converted on 17-of-32 shots (53%) and 9-of-20 three-point field goals (45%). He made 8-of-9 free throws.

Edwards has 48 three-point field goals this season which is second best in the CCAC. His 44.4 three-point field goal percentage ranks third.

Judson is 6-11 overall and 2-0 in the CCAC.
