Robert Morris' Meshes recorded a hat trick in playoff game against St. Xavier

Robert Morris University senior Anne Meshes (Rockford, IL) got the job done on offense for the Eagles last week. She scored four goals and had one assist on the week to earn CCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Judson University sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Fowler (Crosby, TX) posted a shut out against St. Xavier University to earn CCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Both awards are for the week ending Nov. 1.

On the final day of regular-season competition Robert Morris closed out the season on a 9-1-1 run to claim the third seed in the CCAC tournament, finishing with a 3-1 road win over Illinois Tech. Meshes had a goal in this game to assist the Eagles to victory. As the No. 3 seed in the quarterfinals, Robert Morris easily handled No. 6 St. Xavier, 5-0, thanks to Meshes offense output. The 5-6 senior had three goals and assisted on another to spark the offense. She scored twice on penalty kicks in the first half before completing the hat trick with a 30-yard bomb in the second half. She also served up a perfect free kick that turned into another tally for the Eagles. Meshes now has nine goals and eight assists on the year. Robert Morris will now play Olivet Nazarene on Saturday in tournament semifinal action.

With playoff seedings still up in the air, the Judson women's soccer team took care of business against St. Xavier to earn its first-ever win against the Cougars. Fowler, the league's leader in shut outs with nine, blanked the Cougars as Judson won 4-0. Fowler recorded four saves in the win.
