Saint Xavier University's John O'Brien (Lake Zurich, Ill.) has repeated as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Illinois Institute of Technology's James Dodgen (Flagstaff, Ariz.) has been named the CCAC Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 12, it was announced by the CCAC office on Tuesday morning.

One week after batting .714, O'Brien hit .538 (7-for-13) with a 1.154 slugging percentage in five games this time around. The junior shortstop collected at least one hit and one run scored in each of those contests and drove in one or more runs in four of the five affairs. Included was a two-homer, nine-RBI day against Calumet College of St. Joseph on April 8, where SXU swept the Crimson Wave, 10-4 and 18-7.

For the five games total, O'Brien scored 11 runs and drove in another 11. He also walked seven times and had four of his seven hits go for extra bases, including a pair of doubles.

With the 5-0 week, Saint Xavier extended its winning streak to 15 games to put itself at 26-9 overall and 15-2 in league play, one-half game in front of second-place Purdue University North Central.

Dodgen, meanwhile, authored his second one-hit shutout of the season on April 11 when he blanked Cardinal Stritch University, 3-0, in the second game of a doubleheader. Dodgen faced just one batter over the minimum in the contest and struck out seven batters, while only allowing one walk.

Illinois Tech went 3-2 on the week to improve to 14-18 overall and 9-8 in the conference.
