The first-ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Fall Sports All-Academic Teams for the recently-completed 2008 season have been announced with a total of 119 student-athletes being recognized over the five fall sports covering men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher at his/her current CCAC school with a total of at least 60 semester/90 quarter hours of total college credit earned. The nominated student-athlete must also have been enrolled at the CCAC institution for a minimum of one academic year.

Breaking down the numbers, women's soccer boasted the highest total on its all-academic team with 39 recipients, followed by volleyball with 28 and men's soccer with 19. Women's cross country had 18 members named to its team with men's cross country posting 15.

Trinity Christian College secured the most honorees on the five teams combined with 23 individuals being named, while Illinois Institute of Technology and Olivet Nazarene University were one behind with 22 each. Trinity International University gathered the next-highest total with 15 followed by University of St. Francis with 11, Saint Xavier University with 9, Cardinal Stritch University, 7, Calumet College of St. Joseph, 6, and Judson University, 4.

Trinity International's women's soccer team posted the most recipients from the same school in any one sport with 11.

Of the 119 student-athletes gaining the distinction, 10 authored perfect 4.00 grade point averages. They were:

Women's Cross Country: Meghan Bannatz (Jr., Mathematics, St. Francis), Lauren Dentzman (Jr. Psychology, Saint Xavier), Stephanie Lucas (Sr., Biomedical Engineering, Illinois Tech), Amy Poull (Jr., English, Saint Xavier) and Megan Syring (Jr., Education, Saint Xavier).

Men's Soccer: Daniel Votipka (Jr., Computer Science, Illinois Tech).

Women's Soccer: Katie Gremar (Jr., Elementary Education, Olivet Nazarene).

Volleyball: Ashley Ahline (Jr., Business, Saint Xavier), Courtney Ambrosch (Sr., Accounting, St. Francis) and Stephanie Smith (Jr., Biblical Studies/Spanish, Olivet Nazarene).
