CHICAGO --- Leading their respective teams to strong starts in conference play and a total of four wins each on the week, Trinity Christian College's Danielle Oeverman (Byron Center, Mich.) and Dani VanLaten (Westmont, Ill.) and St. Ambrose University's Jenna Laxton (Moline, Ill.) have all earned recognition as Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Oeverman, a senior middle hitter, was a force offensively leading to CCAC Attacker of the Week accolades.  In five matches, she turned in an impressive .425 attack percentage with 46 kills and only nine errors in 87 total chances.  In four of her five matches, she made only one attacking error.  She also authored a 2.71 kills-per-set average and a 0.76 blocks-per-set average.

Oeverman's highlights of the week included a 13-kill match versus Clarke University (Iowa) on Friday and her five assist blocks in a four-set win versus Avila University (Mo.) on Saturday.  That led to her being named to the Clarke Invitational All-Tournament Team.

VanLaten, a sophomore, set things up offensively for the Trolls to gain CCAC Setter of the Week accord.  She produced no less than 28 assists in any one match, topped by a 47-assist match versus Clarke on Friday.  It was one of two 40-plus assist matches for VanLaten.  She finished with an average of 10.47 assists per set to go along with 3.0 digs per set and nine service aces.

Trinity Christian (7-6) went 4-1 on the week, including a 3-0 league win over Governors State University on Thursday.  The Trolls' only setback on the week came in three sets to NAIA No. 14 Northwestern College (Iowa).

Laxton, a junior libero, closed out the list of honorees as the CCAC Defender of the Week after posting double-digit digs in all six of her team's matches.  She averaged 5.0 digs per set, while also turning in a .949 reception percentage.  Her biggest match of the week came in a five-set win over conference foe Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.), where she had 22 digs, 32 receptions and five aces.

St. Ambrose went 4-2 on the week with two of the wins coming in five sets against league rivals Saint Xavier University and Cardinal Stritch to get the Fighting Bees off to a quick 2-0 start in the conference.  Overall, St. Ambrose is 6-6.
