Women's Cross Country - Wed, Sep. 6, 2017

CHICAGO --- A record-setting performance from Trinity Christian College's Megan DeWeerd (Sioux Falls, SD) has earned her Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 3, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.

In her first meet of the season, DeWeerd took first place in a field of 89 runners at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints Twilight Invite with a time of 17:34 over the 5K course on Friday night.  That mark not only improved the junior's personal-best time by more than 60 seconds, but also established a new Trinity Christian record, breaking the old mark by 35 seconds.

DeWeerd led the Trolls to a second-place team finish among a total of eight squads.

Other Nominees: Taylor Conroy (St. Francis).
