Men's Soccer - Tue, Sep. 5, 2017

CHICAGO --- Holy Cross College's Lewis Tomlinson (Gainsborough, England) did not allow a goal in two games, while Olivet Nazarene University's Christian Henock-Berhanu (Bourbonnais, Ill.) produced a goal in each of two contests to land Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week accolades, respectively, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.

Tomlinson, a freshman goalkeeper, played the first 45 minutes of a 1-0 victory against University of Michigan-Dearborn last Tuesday before going the distance against Bethel College (Ind.) in another 1-0 victory on Saturday.  In each game, Tomlinson made one save.

The latter game also provided Tomlinson with his first solo shutout at the collegiate level.

Holy Cross is 3-1 on the season after going 2-0 this past week.

Henock-Berhanu, a senior midfielder, provided half of the Tigers' offense on the week with his two goals.  He recorded the lone tally in a 2-1 setback to Marian University (Ind.) on Tuesday and gained his other goal in a 3-0 victory opposite Williams Woods University (Mo.) on Saturday.

Olivet Nazarene's split decision on the week left the No. 18-ranked Tigers at 1-2-1 on the season.

Other Offensive Nominees: James Meehan (Calumet St. Joseph), Leon Gopal (Holy Cross).

Other Defensive Nominees: Chris Taborn (Olivet Nazarene), Roy Gean (Calumet St. Joseph).
