CHICAGO --- Leading their respective teams to four wins on the week, Robert Morris University Illinois' Kristin Acciavatti (Wheaton, Ill.) and Saint Xavier University's Mariana Ayala (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) and Courtney Joyce (Chicago, Ill.) have gained the nod as the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the 2017 season, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Acciavatti, a senior outside hitter, averaged 4.36 kills and boasted a .321 attack percentage in a perfect 4-0 week to land CCAC Attacker of the Week recognition for the seven-day period ending August 27.  She also averaged 3.43 digs per contest.

Acciavatti's biggest match came in a come-from-behind victory over Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) on Friday.  Down 2-0, she rallied the Eagles to a five-set win with her 20 kills and 18 digs.

Acciavatti also produced double-digit kill totals in each of the Eagles' other three matches and 10-plus digs in three of four contests.  Her other numbers over the seven-day period included a total of eight blocks (seven assist blocks).

Robert Morris evened out its record at 4-4 with the four victories on the week.

Ayala finished the week averaging 5.53 digs per set over her 17 sets.

Joyce's best single-match effort of the week came on Friday when she totaled 49 assists, 19 digs and four kills in a five-set win over Marian University (Ind.).  She added another 40-plus assist match the next day with her 43 assists in a straight three-set win opposite Bethel College (Ind.).  In that same match, she also turned in 10 digs and four kills.
