ROSEMONT, Ill. --- NAIA No. 11-ranked University of St. Francis finds itself in the driver's seat and one win away from securing its first-ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament title after the Saints (40-5) went 2-0 on Friday to remain as the sole unbeaten in the eight-team, double elimination tournament after the first two days.

Three more teams were eliminated on Friday, leaving No. 2 seed Olivet Nazarene University and No. 6 seed Cardinal Stritch University, along with St. Francis, as the remaining three teams in the tournament field.

Cardinal Stritch (29-22) and Olivet Nazarene (30-11) will square off in the first game on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the championship game to follow at noon.  Should a second championship game be necessary, that would start at 2 p.m.

Recapping Friday:

Olivet Nazarene 4, Judson 3 (Box): Olivet Nazarene opened up a 3-0 lead after two innings on Judson starter Lauren Herlihy (16-2) before holding off a pair of late rallies by the Eagles, including leaving the tying run stranded at third base in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Makenna Emerson had two hits and a run batted in for the winners, who picked up a complete-game effort from Emily Carstens (19-4).

St. Francis 5, Purdue Northwest 0 (Box): Morghan Dieringer (22-4) delivered her second shutout in as many days and her ninth of the season, limiting Purdue Northwest to just two hits on the day.  Ally Balandis had a pair of hits and two runs batted in for the Saints, while Katelyn Rolniak reached base safely four times (two hits, two walks) and drove in a run.

Cardinal Stritch 3, Purdue Northwest 2 (Box): In a game that featured five errors with all five runs being unearned, Cardinal Stritch prevailed on Karly Lange's run-scoring double in the fifth inning.  Brittney Blazich drove in the Wolves' other two runs with a triple in the second inning.  Cindy Garces led the way with three hits.

St. Ambrose 9, Judson 1 (Box): St. Ambrose put the game out of reach in the first inning aided by seven hits and four Judson errors to score eight times.  Christina Pembrook went 3-for-3 for the Bees with Julie Trellicoso and Anna Boffeli providing two hits and an RBI each.  Ashley Yattoni (14-7) earned the mound win.

St. Francis 5, Olivet Nazarene 4 (Box): After spotting Olivet Nazarene a 4-0 lead after four innings, St. Francis rallied for three runs in the fifth and one each in the sixth and seventh innings to earn the comeback win.  Hailey Lenth sparked two of the rallies with a two-run single in the fifth inning.  She then scored the winning run on an error after opening the seventh inning with a triple.  Olivet Nazarene, which used three doubles to score three runs in the first inning, picked up two hits and an RBI from both Carstens and Kristina Shahan.  Balandis had her second multiple-hit game (3 hits) of the day and drove in one run, while Lenth and Brooke Karraker added two hits each.  Dieringer (23-4) worked the final inning to pick up her second win of the day.

Cardinal Stritch 9, St. Ambrose 0 (Box): Cardinal Stritch scored in each of the first four innings, including three times in the opening frame, to gain the rout.  Blazich remained hot with a 3-for-4, three-RBI game.  Lauren Stoch added two hits and another two runs batted in, while Fatime Sino (14-13) gained her second win of the day on the mound.
