Men's Volleyball - Tue, Feb. 28, 2017

CHICAGO --- For the third time this season, Robert Morris University Illinois has swept the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's volleyball weekly honors, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Providing the sweep were CCAC Attacker of the Week Paris McFall (Maywood, Ill.), CCAC Defender of the Week Dalton Tucker (White Hall, Ill.) and CCAC Setter of the Week Bobby Ying (Fresno, Calif.).  For each of the three, it marked the fourth time this year that they have been recognized.

McFall, a senior outside hitter, averaged 3.83 kills, 1.52 digs and 1.39 blocks per set in a week in which the Eagles faced four NAIA Top 10 clubs and finished 3-3.  Included was a five-set win over No. 7 Missouri Valley.

McFall posted double-figure kill totals in five of the six matches topped by his 18 in the upset of Missouri Valley on Friday.  He also registered seven blocks that afternoon.  His other big match came one night earlier when he totaled 13 kills, eight digs and nine blocks in a four-set win over league foe St. Ambrose to give the Eagles sole possession of first place in the CCAC.

From an attacking percentage, McFall's best match came in a three-set loss to No. 4 Ottawa on Friday when he notched 14 kills against only three errors in 25 chances for a .440 clip.

Tucker, a senior libero, averaged 3.57 digs per set as he authored 10 or more digs in five of the six matches.  Twice he hit the 14-dig mark, but his top mark for the week was his 19 opposite No. 1 Park (Mo.) on Saturday.

In the win over St. Ambrose, Tucker recorded 14 digs, three aces and 30 passes with only two errors.  He also was perfect in 15 pass attempts versus Ottawa.

Ying, a sophomore, hit the 40-assist mark in a pair of wins – against Missouri Valley (41) and Briar Cliff (47) – and totaled 34 assists in the league win versus St. Ambrose.  He finished the six matches averaging an even 9.0 assists per set for the week.

Robert Morris, ranked No. 8 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll, stands as the only remaining unbeaten in the league at 4-0.  Overall, the Eagles are 13-6.

Other Attacker Nominees: Sean Barry (Saint Xavier).
