Women's Indoor Track & Field - Wed, Feb. 15, 2017

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Brandi Hosford (Morrison, Ill.) and Saint Xavier University's Ellie Willging (Freeport, Ill.) gained the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's indoor track & field spotlight for the second week in a row when the league office announced its weekly award winners for the seven-day period ending Feb. 12 on Wednesday morning.

Hosford, the CCAC Field Athlete of the Week, broke her own school record and improved upon her NAIA national-qualifying mark in the triple jump with her meet-best leap of 11.59 meters at the Monmouth Fighting Scot Invite on Saturday.  The junior now boasts the nation's third-best jump in the event this year.

Hosford also placed fifth out of 16 individuals at the meet in the long jump with a 5.07-meter distance.

Willging, a junior, also set a new school record with her time of 17:24.48 in the 5K run at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships hosted by North Central College on Friday.  She not only won the event, but finished 42 seconds faster than her next closest challenger.

Willging's mark is the second-best time in the NAIA this year.

Other Track Nominees: Courtney Vander Vorde (Olivet Nazarene), Jenna Moody (St. Francis).

Other Field Nominees: Kylie Davis (Olivet Nazarene).
