Women's Indoor Track & Field - Wed, Feb. 8, 2017

CHICAGO --- First-place finishes by both Saint Xavier University's Ellie Willging (Freeport, Ill.) and St. Ambrose University's Brandi Hosford (Morrison, Ill.) have netted Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week distinction for the pair, it was announced by the league office Wednesday morning.

Willging, a junior, captured the 3,000 meter race at the Olivet Nazarene Invite with an impressive 10-minute, 10.61-second time, nearly 17 seconds faster than her next-closest challenger.  She also qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championships with the A-standard mark and the fifth-best performance in the nation this season.

Hosford, a junior, also qualified for the NAIA National Championships with her winning jump of 11.4 meters in the triple jump.  She also placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 4.96 meters.
