BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Senior forward Zach Kirschbaum was one of 100 student-athletes across college basketball to be included on the first edition of the Bevo Francis Award Watch List, announced by Small College Basketball.

Beginning in 2016, the Bevo Francis Award is given to the player with the best overall season within small college basketball, including NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, USCAA, and NCCAA. Members of the Bevo Francis Award committee, which is made up of university presidents, coaches and SID's, chose members of the Watch List from over 1,100 colleges and universities across the nation.

Kirschbaum is the leading scorer and rebounder for 20th-ranked Trinity International, averaging 18.9 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. The Las Vegas, Nev. native set a new career high with 32 points in Saturday's win at Olivet Nazarene. Nationally, Kirschbaum leads the NAIA Division II with 15 double-doubles, and ranks 2nd in rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, and blocks per game. He also leads all divisions of four-year college basketball with 231 total rebounds on the year.

Kirschbaum is the only player from the CCAC to be included on the Watch List, and is one of 13 student-athletes representing NAIA Division II.

On February 15, Small College Basketball will narrow the list to 50 players, then trim the list further on March 15 with the award finalists being announced on April 1. The winner of the Bevo Francis Award will be named on April 3.
