After a year in which the top four Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer teams each won the same number of league matches - six - look for 2008 to be much of the same as evidenced by this year's preseason vote by the league's coaches.

While four-time defending champion Judson University garnered the most votes (80 total), including eight of 10 first-place votes, the next three spots are separated by just six votes. Saint Xavier University, despite not receiving any first-place votes, edged out Olivet Nazarene University and Illinois Institute of Technology for the No. 2 spot with its 65 votes.

ONU and Illinois Tech, both of which collected one first-place vote, totaled 62 and 59 votes, respectively.

Cardinal Stritch University holds down the No. 5 spot with its 48 votes, while Trinity International University just missed the upper bracket with its 46 votes.

Trinity Christian College tallied 36 votes to land the No. 7 slot with Robert Morris College (27 votes), University of St. Francis (15) and Calumet College St. Joseph (12) rounding out the conference list.

Judson (6-1-2 in the CCAC last year) edged out second-place finishers Olivet Nazarene (6-3), Saint Xavier (6-3), Trinity International (6-3) and Illinois Tech (5-2-2) by one game to claim the conference crown outright last fall.
