Trinity International University is proud to announce Andy Euler as its new head men's basketball coach. TIU Director of Athletics Patrick Gilliam said, "I am very excited to have Coach Euler coming aboard as our new men's basketball coach and as a part of the TIU athletic family. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position, not to mention a level of maturity that will benefit the long-term growth of the program.
"Over the years, I have interacted with a number of students and athletes who have had the privilege of working under his leadership, and the feedback about his abilities and influence is tremendously positive. I look forward to having him here with us and watching him lead our program for many years to come."
There is no doubt that Euler will feel right at home as a member of the TIU community as he has been very successful teaching and coaching young people in the Christian higher learning environment.
"I am thankful for the opportunity to be the head men's basketball coach at Trinity, a place where the desire to honor Christ is first and foremost, and where excellence in the classroom and on the court is expected," said Euler.  "I am grateful for the foundation that has been laid here by Coach Davidson and hope to continue to strive for excellence for the glory of God. I am excited to return to the Chicago area to get to work with and recruit quality young men who have a desire to follow Christ, excel in the classroom, and pursue a nationally recognized basketball program."
Coach Euler joins the TIU family after serving the past two years as the head men's basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Covenant College, a fellow NAIA institution that competes in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and is based in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
Previous to his time at Covenant, Euler enjoyed a long tenure at Wheaton Academy in Wheaton, Illinois, where he posted an impressive coaching record of 258-171. With Euler at the helm, the Wheaton Academy Warriors won four Private School League championships, were the regional runners-up five times and won the regional championship in the 1997-1998 season.
Eighteen of his Warrior players continued their careers at the collegiate level, going on to play at NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions.
Euler achieved PSL coach of the year recognition twice while coaching at Wheaton, as well as garnering the IHSAA District 9 coach of the year award in 2000.
Preceding his time at Wheaton Academy, Euler spent time coaching and teaching at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and Pillsbury College in Owatonna, MN.  In the 1991-92 season, Euler directed the Anchorage Christian High School basketball team to the AAA state championship and received coach of the year honors.
Euler earned his bachelor's degree in education from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where he played intercollegiate basketball and was recognized as the team's most valuable player. He and his wife, Melissa, have been married over thirty years and have three children.
