and Olivet Nazarene University went undefeated during the week ending March 30 thanks in large part to the play of Brittany Hannigan (Palos Hills, Ill.) and Kellie Koverman (Princeton, Ind.). Hannigan, a freshman shortstop from Saint Xavier, earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week honors after turning in a .636 batting average, while Koverman, a sophomore from Olivet Nazarene, gained CCAC Pitcher of the Week plaudits after earning three of the Tigers' six wins, one on a perfect game.

Hannigan produced multiple hits in each of her first three games in totaling seven hits in 11 official plate appearances for the week. Five of those hits went for extra bases (four doubles, one home run) leading to a 1.273 slugging percentage, with three coming in the first game of the week on March 25.

Hannigan went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a home run in that 10-0 victory over Purdue University North Central. She also drove in three runs, while scoring twice in the contest.

Scoring twice per game was the theme of the week for Hannigan, who accomplished that feat in each of the four games played by the Cougars for a total of eight runs scored. Her other numbers over the four games included six RBI and three walks.

On the mound, Koverman started her week perfect, tossing a five-inning perfect game in an 8-0 victory over Lindenwood University (Mo.) in the second game of a doubleheader on March 25. Six of her 15 outs came via the strikeout route that day.

Koverman added two more complete-game victories over conference foes Judson University on March 28 and Trinity Christian College on March 29. In the 5-4 win over Judson, Koverman struck out eight batters. She recorded another seven K's, while only giving up three hits in the 10-2 victory over Trinity Christian. Both runs in the latter affair were unearned as was one of the four in the Judson contest.

For the three games combined, Koverman struck out 21 batters and only gave up four walks and 10 hits in 17 innings and posted a 1.24 earned run average.

Olivet Nazarene, ranked No. 17 in last week's poll, did nothing to hurt that mark with its 6-0 week, jumping its overall record to 22-3.

Saint Xavier, meanwhile, pushed its record closer to the .500 mark at 8-10 overall.
