RMC's Jeffers in action against IUSB

Chicago, IL - A day after being named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Robert Morris senior forward Othyus Jeffers was featured as the lead story in the Tuesday, March 4, 2008, sports section of the USA Today.

The article, entitled "NAIA star knows dangers of playing close to home," was written by USA Today Chicago correspondent Marlen Garcia.  It tells the story of the misfortunes that have befallen Jeffers's family and the gun shot wound he suffered last spring defending his sister in a street altercation.

"No matter what has happened to Othyus," says Robert Morris Head Coach Al Bruehl, 2008 winner of the award for CCAC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year, "he has always had basketball to keep him straight.  He is not only the best basketball player we've ever coached, but he is among the finest young men who have played for RMC."
