Judson University guard Dewayne Robinson (Memphis, Tenn.) claimed his third Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week award with his 17-point, seven-rebound effort in the Eagles' lone contest during the week ending February 24 and with it came their first-ever regular-season title.
Robinson, a 6-3 junior, hit key shots down the stretch of Judson's 78-69 victory over eventual league runner-up Trinity Christian College (18-11, 9-3) on Feb. 20, including five straight free throws to close out the game. One of those shots came as part of a three-point play with just 70 seconds to play.
For the night, he made all but one of his nine shots at the charity line.
Robinson also produced three steals and one assist in the game.
The victory - the third league win in a row - completed the Eagles' worst-to-first turnaround in the CCAC from one year ago. They finished the regular season 17-8 overall and 10-2 in conference play.
Robinson's previous two honors came during the weeks ending Nov. 18 and Feb. 3.
