CHICAGO --- Calumet College of St. Joseph's Jesus Avalos (Chicago, Ill.) has claimed his second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor for 2012, while Olivet Nazarene University's Zach Chambers (Flanders, N. J.) has earned the distinction on defense for the first time, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.

Avalos, a senior forward, had a foot in on three of the Crimson Wave's four goals leading to a pair of team victories this past week.  He tallied the first goal as well as an insurance one in Calumet St. Joseph's 3-1 nod over Holy Cross College on Tuesday before assisting on the game's only goal in a 1-0 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday.

Avalos secured his first player of the week honor during the week ending Oct. 7 when he scored three goals in two games.

Chambers, meanwhile, had to work overtime before securing his third shutout of the season.  The freshman goalkeeper went all 100 minutes and stopped five shots on goal before the Tigers broke a 0-0 deadlock against Saint Xavier with the only goal of the game.

The contest was the only one over the seven-day period for Olivet Nazarene, which is now 11-4-3 overall and finished third in the league during the regular season with a 7-2-2 mark.

Calumet closed out its year at 7-11 and 5-6.
