CHICAGO --- Besting a NAIA Great Lakes Challenge field that featured six Top 25 NAIA programs and all 12 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference institutions that sponsor women's cross country, University of St. Francis' Hilary Halford (Antioch, Ill.) has been named as the league's female runner of the week, it was announced by the CCAC office Tuesday morning.

Halford, a junior, led the 355-runner field covering the 5K course in 18 minutes, 20 seconds on Saturday.  Her effort enabled the No. 17-ranked Saints to place fourth out of 32 teams at the event.

NAIA No. 4 Olivet Nazarene University won the meet with ranked clubs Cornerstone University, Mich. (No. 9), Grand View University, Mich. (No. 12) Huntington University, Ind. (No. 24) and Taylor University, Ind. (No. 25) also competing.

The weekly distinction marks the second time Halford has been so honored.  She also garnered the recognition for the seven-day period ending Sept. 30.
