CHICAGO --- Saint Xavier University's Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Corcoran, a junior, garnered the recognition for the second time this season after placing second overall in a competitive field at the Bethel College (Ind.) Invitational on Friday.  He finished just three seconds behind frontrunner Grant Gunneson of Aquinas College (Mich.), who registered a time of 25:23.  Corcoran posted a time of 25:26 over the 8K course.

As a team, Saint Xavier placed third in the nine-team field behind only NAIA No. 11 Aquinas and Indiana Tech, which is among others receiving votes in the latest NAIA poll.

The Cougars are also receiving votes in that same poll.

Corcoran earned the league's first Runner of the Week award back on Sept. 5 for the seven-day period ending Sept. 3.
