CHICAGO --- Robert Morris University's Florence Dadson (Cape Coast, Ghana) continued her scoring tear, while University of St. Francis' Amber Zukowski (Tinley Park, Ill.) helped deny the opposition any goals during the week of Oct. 7 to land Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Dadson, who has now won the league's offensive award three of the past four weeks, totaled 10 points in a pair of victories for the Eagles last week topped by a two-goal, two-assist effort in a 7-0 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday. She added another goal and two more assists in a 10-0 win against Roosevelt University on Tuesday.
In just eight games played this season, Dadson, a junior forward, has already scored 14 goals, while assisting on six others for a total of 34 points. That ranks her ninth in the country in total goals and 10th in total points.
Zukowski, a senior defender/midfielder, spearheaded a St. Francis defense that allowed only five total shots over two games with only one being on goal in shutout victories over Holy Cross College (9-0) and Cardinal Stritch University (1-0). Zukowski also stopped the lone shot on goal by the opposition playing the last 18 minutes in goal of Tuesday's Holy Cross match.
Robert Morris is 7-5 overall and tied for second place in the conference standings at 4-1.
St. Francis, which has not allowed a goal in each of its last three games, is 9-3 overall and 3-2 in league play.
