BENSENVILLE, Ill. --- The Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave men's soccer team grabbed a 2-1 upset win over NAIA No. 15 ranked Robert Morris University on the road Saturday.

The first half was a slow start for both teams offensively as it ended scoreless.   The Eagles outshot the Crimson Wave 12-2 in the opening half.

Robert Morris' Stefan Zindovi scored the first goal of the game in the 57th minute of play on a header from a cross pass by Patryk Gorajewski.

"Robert Morris came out very aggressive," said Calumet St. Joseph head coach Justin Olson.  "They kept us on our heels most of the half but the defense really played well and withstood their attack.

"Going into the second half we didn't have a lot of shots. Robert Morris came out in the second half and scored first."

The Crimson Wave evened the score in the 74th minute when Jesus Avalos beat two defenders and laced a shot to the right corner finding the back of the goal.

With just six minutes remaining in regulation, Avalos took a shot from twenty five yards out putting the ball in the upper 90 for a Crimson Wave victory.

"We didn't lose our composure and started to penetrate their back line," added Olson.  "We were able to put two away to seal the game.

"I am so proud of my guys for playing hard until the end.  'We just beat the 15th-ranked team in the nation,' I told them after the game."

Fernando Perez added 7 saves in the Crimson Wave victory.
