CHICAGO --- Key performances by Saint Xavier University men's soccer players Luis Medina (Waukegan, Ill.) and Kyle Held (Palatine, Ill.) this past week not only helped the Cougars sweep a pair of league contests, but Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week accolades for the duo, as well, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Held allowed only one goal in the two wins combined to garner the defensive accolades for the second week in a row, while Medina had a hand in on three of SXU's four goals over the two games to pick up the top offensive honors.

Held, a junior goalkeeper, posted his fourth shutout of the season on Saturday, stopping three shots on goal in a 2-0 victory over University of St. Francis.  Four days earlier, he only allowed one goal in six attempts in a 2-1 win over Trinity Christian College.

Medina, a sophomore midfielder, played a role in both scores on Tuesday getting a goal and an assist with the assist setting up the winning goal for the Cougars in the 88^th minute against Trinity Christian.  He then notched an insurance goal on Saturday when he stole a ball in front of the St. Francis net and scored at the 72-minute mark.

With the pair of wins, Saint Xavier is now 7-3 overall and one of only two teams with a perfect 3-0 record in conference play.
